Lynn Foster

Lynn is responsible for sourcing investment opportunities in the emerging technologies area, and specifically in the broad field of nanotechnology. He frequently works with entrepreneurs and founders on strategic partnerships in the aerospace industry and obtaining government research grants.

Lynn managed the State of California´s CalTIP grant program that matched federal research and development grants with commercialization funding after previously managing grant funding with the U.S. Air Force. He is also a grant reviewer for the National Science Foundation.

Lynn is the author of Nanotechnology, Science, Innovation & Opportunity (Prentice Hall, 2005) and continues to act as an Advisor to a number of major conferences on Nanotechnology. He has directed eight major nanotechnology conferences and trade missions, including the first Nanotechnology Commercialization Conference for the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Lynn serves, among others, on the Executive Committee of the Caltech Enterprise Forum and the Advisory Boards of the Nano Science & Technology Institute and the International Engineering Consortium.

Lynn has 20 years of active and reserve service with the U.S. Army including service in the first Gulf War and Bosnia. He holds a BS and an MBA from San Diego State University and California State University, Long Beach.
